Fashion 4 Development: Giving Back is the New Luxury
ShareLast week EDUN joined a room full of inspiring women at the Pierre Hotel in New York, including co-founder Evie Evangelou and Goodwill Ambassador Franca Sozzani, to celebrate Fashion 4 Development’s second annual First Ladies F4D Luncheon.
Fashion 4 Development is a global awareness campaign that endeavors to “educate, empower, enhance and enrich” the lives of women and children in developing countries around the world. The campaign is leveraging the power of the fashion industry to develop creative economic solutions that create sustainable job growth in these countries.
EDUN is proud to be among the brands committed to carrying out F4D’s goals; one being to find a way to fund the textile industry in African countries, not only to honor their craft but to help them compete in the global marketplace. As Evie Evangelou said in the UN press conference last month, “it’s not about charity, it’s work.”
