Edun Partners with Concern to Donate Profits Towards the Horn of Africa Drought Relief
ShareThe world’s worst food crisis is devastating East Africa. A staggering 12 million people in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia lack access to food and water and are in immediate and urgent need of humanitarian assistance. The region’s worst drought in 60 years has scorched pastures and killed huge numbers of livestock, and the situation is deteriorating daily.
Concern Worldwide, the international humanitarian aid organization, founded in Ireland in 1968, has been operational in Somalia since 1986, in Ethiopia since 1973 and in Kenya since 2002, and already has very well established education, health, livelihoods, HIV & AIDS and emergency programs.
Concern is reaching 584,000 of the most vulnerable people with food, water and vital interventions to treat and prevent disease and malnutrition. This number is increasing daily.
During the month of August, Edun is donating 10% of all proceeds from the sale of the Fall collection through Concern towards the alleviation of the suffering of the people of Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Edun has also specially designed an EDUN/CONCERN T-shirt exclusive to Edun.com, for which all sales will be designated for the Horn of Africa through Concern Worldwide US. Finally, all sales of the New Poem Scarf will go towards the crisis relief.
