EDUN Honors Self Help Africa in 2012 Change Makers Ball

Last Friday, EDUN joined Self Help Africa to celebrate the 2012 Change Maker’s Ball, which continues to raise money and bring awareness to economic opportunities in Africa. Hosted at the Chelsea Piers’ Pier 63, guests were greeted with $100 cocktails conjured up by renown NYC chef Nils Noren, for which the proceeds helped to raise funds for Self Help Africa initiatives. It was a black-tie event filled with live and silent auctions, a gourmet 3-course meal and dancing to live music.

Self Help Africa is a non-profit that seeks to end poverty through savings and loans, specifically for small businesses. The incredible list of this years achievements include: training almost 400,000 people across Africa in food production, business skills and marketing, microfinance services for over 35,000 small business owners, and employment and production growth for 160,000 small farm businesses.

All of the proceeds from the night will go towards Self Help Africa’s sustainable development efforts.
